This is information and advice that you will need in preparing for your marriage and considering whether to have a church wedding at St Mary Magdalene. A checklist of the things you need to have done is included at the end.

Bells: We have a peal of six bells at Lyminster. Our ringers are always happy to celebrate the wedding with a peal of bells after and during a ‘photo session’.

Choir: As well as a superb organ and organist, we have an excellent choir who would willingly lead your service on the special day. Having them really makes a difference and serves to ‘lift’ the whole service.

Retiring CollectionWe all have the needs of children close to our hearts. Thus the PCC have agreed to invite wedding guests to contribute to a collection for the Chestnut Tree Childrens' Hospice as they leave the church.

You will usually meet Vanessa or Tom at least three times before your wedding. Initially, to talk through the Christian marriage and to talk through the forms you need to be complete.  Time would be spent going through the service itself ensuring that you are familiar with all the different aspects.

There would be a final meeting just beforehand to rehearse the service. It will normally be 1 or 2 days before the wedding, often on a Thursday evening.  Further details will be discussed during the preparation.

If you have any queries feel free to contact the parish office through the form supplied or on the phone.
